Nimes “As de Nîmes”
The “As de Nîmes” coin was minted in 28AD to celebrate the victory of Augustus over Mark Anthony and Cleopatra of Egypt in the Battle of Actium in 31BC – and “Col Nem” shows that Nîmes was a Roman colony by this time.
